Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of strong high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience; must be comfortable in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

Special Requests: RTO requires manager approval.

Unit Details: Patient population includes respiratory, trauma (including penetrating and non-accidental trauma/NAT), DKA, seizures, neurosurgical, acute/chronic renal failure, orthopedic, surgical, kidney and whole/partial liver transplants, complex medical, and blood disorders. RN ratios vary by acuity: 2:1, 1:1, 1:2. Required experience includes Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device (ICP and temperature monitoring), Belmont Rapid Infuser, critical care vasoactive drip titration, invasive ART lines/CVP, ventilator and trach management, HOFV management, g-tube/j-tube and feeding tube management, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, sedation and analgesic drips, bedside procedures with providers, and CRRT. Uses Alaris and Medfusion syringe pumps, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Accuvein, PIV ultrasound, Artic Sun, Camino, EV-1000 Vigileo, I-stat, and Accuryn.

Shift & Scheduling: No call. Weekend rotation: 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays, and 2 Mondays every 6-week schedule. These eight required shifts may be grouped together or worked separately as long as they occur within the 6-week period. Travelers will work 75% of holidays; unit requirement is the eve and day of every other holiday while contracted. Shift times: 0645-1915 or 1845-0715. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: If the PICU cannot utilize them, they may float within the facility as needed to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU or Peds Progressive, or general Pediatrics units.
