Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• Ability to care for up to 1-3 ICU patients and manage patients on the ventilator.
• Bedside shift report will occur on every patient with each transfer of care.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• 36 months RN experience, with at least one of those years in an ICU.
• CRRT.
• Advanced hemodynamics.
• Phlebotomy.
• Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of the ICU (respiratory treatments: inhalers and nebulizers).

Unit Details:

• Patient ratios: 1:2, 1:3 - holding inpatient PCU/med surg admissions.
• Uses i-mobile phones for each care team member and mobile computer workstations on wheels.
• Mixed ICU with post-op day 0 CABG (fresh heart from OR), Impellas, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz, neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, Codman bolts, and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia.
• Opportunity to train in Neuro ICU care and head and neck flap procedures.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Floating Requirements:

• Travelers are first to float and may be sent to the emergency department or PCU to care for PCU or ICU holds.
