Travel Nurse (RN) - Neurologic Intensive Care Unit

Unit Details:

• Neuro ICU caring for ischemic strokes (post TNK, thrombectomies), hemorrhagic strokes (SAH, IPH, IVH, SDH), seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections/biopsies; non-neuro ICU overflow includes medical respiratory and general medical ICU overflow.
• Significant neuro-intensive care patients are assigned to core staff.
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs.
• Support includes CNA coverage 1:8-10, charge RN rarely taking a patient assignment, 24/7 intensivist/hospitalist/RT coverage, phlebotomy support for peripheral blood draws, and bedside telemetry with central monitoring.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• CVVH/CRRT and EVD experience preferred.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• No call.
• Every other holiday.
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved.
• Schedule cycle: 6-week increments.
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.

Floating Requirements:

• May float to ED Holding (board patients waiting for an inpatient bed) 1:3-4, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical surgical unit (1:3), sitter, or PACU Surge 1:3-4.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Required clinical skills include vents, trachs, art lines, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draws.
