Travel Nurse (RN) - Wound / Ostomy Care

Required Skills/Experience:

• Two (2) years of Med/Surg experience.
• Colostomy experience.

Required Credentials:

• Associates Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accreditated Nursing Program.
• Current certification in one of the following: Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) issued by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB); Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) issued by the WOCNCB; Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) issued by the WOCNCB; Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) issued by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM); Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC) issued by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO).

Unit Details:

• Conducts focused wound, ostomy, and continence assessments; develops plans of care and recommends medications and treatments as appropriate.
• Assesses and documents response to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound treatments.
• Routinely assesses patients at risk for pressure injuries and initiates preventative measures.
• Provides patient, family, and staff education; develops and evaluates staff education programs; participates in quality improvement activities.
• Works with specialty beds and negative pressure devices.

Shift & Scheduling:

• No on-call.
• Overtime not allowed at NYCHH facilities (requires written manager approval in rare cases).

• Must have NYS Nursing License Registration and NYS Copy of Physical License/Diploma for submission.

• Clinicians must start assignments within 30 days of receiving an offer.
• Individual Professional Liability coverage is mandatory for assignment duration (only individual malpractice insurance is accepted by the facility).
• Clinician must complete Additional skills section of resume with detailed description of patient pops and procedures worked for each work history.
