Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must meet experience requirements within the 3 most recent years. However, must have at least 1 year of current specialty experience for a clinical pass.
  • MS/Tele experience.
  • Telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and use of Rapid Response Teams.
  • Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Oncology experience preferred; will train to oncology patients.

Required Credentials:

  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests:

  • References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
  • You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
  • Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any of the Ohio State University facilities.
  • No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.

Unit Details:

  • Adult and geriatric patient population.
  • Acute leukemia population; primarily cares for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Medical unit with a high number of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes.
  • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekends: Variable based on unit needs.
  • First week: Mon-Fri dayshift. Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float to other MedSurg Oncology units.

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
