Required Skills/Experience:

  • First-time travelers allowed if they have at least 2 years’ experience.

Preferred Credentials:

  • DPT preferred.

Special Requests:

  • You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility.
  • Holidays off are not contractually guaranteed prior to arrival.

Unit Details:

  • Patient population includes trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, post-op, ICU, and MedSurg patients.
  • The ED is treated like any other MedSurg unit; therapists complete initial evaluations there and continue treatment the next day if the patient has not yet been assigned a room.
  • 10-12 per therapist, 15 units per day.
  • Uses PowerChart.
  • During the first week or two, the therapist works 1:1 with a Rehab Aide for extra assistance and to help orient to the surroundings.
  • After that, Rehab Aides are shared among the clinical staff; typically 5-7 are scheduled per day and a group messaging app is used to communicate when help is needed.
  • Evaluating therapists spend much of the day unassisted unless there is a specific need, allowing aides to assist PTAs with treatments.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Monday-Friday.
  • Weekend rotation: once per month.
  • No call.
  • Holiday expectations: may be asked to assist with coverage of Thanksgiving or Christmas; all other holidays are staffed as normal working days.
  • One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy.
  • Up to 7 days of time off can be approved.

Floating Requirements:

  • Caseload may consist of any area within the hospital (trauma, orthopedics, neuro, MedSurg, ICU), including ED.
