Travel Allied (Surgical Assistant) - Operating Room

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have 3 years of CST experience.
• General and orthopedic experience required, specifically total joints.

Required Credentials:

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Plastics experience preferred.
• Comfort transitioning between scrubbing and assisting preferred.

Unit Details:

• Role includes scrubbing and assisting in the OR.
• Performs general surgery, orthopedic/sports medicine, plastics and cosmetics, podiatry, cataract/eye procedures, and OB/GYN/women's health (non-cancer related).
• Rural community hospital with a wide variety of cases.
• Uses Cerner.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Scheduling is done by the manager; travelers are expected to be flexible to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling.
• Late stay rotations required.
• On-call required 1-2 times per week for weeknights, typically Monday-Friday, with 15.5 hours of weeknight call.
• Weekend call 1-2 times per month, with 24-hour call shifts from Sat 0645-0645 and Sun 0645-0645.
• May be asked to participate in holiday call rotation, including the day before and day of or the day of and day after the holiday; holidays falling on Monday or Friday may include the weekend before or after.
• 30-minute call response time.

Floating Requirements:

• May be asked to float into OR scrub role, PAA/PACU, or sterile processing for helping hands.
