Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in a similar setting required if the traveler only has 1 year of experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Magnesium experience preferred.

Special Requests:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Previous employees may be considered on a one-off exception basis with approval from St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details:

  • Uses Epic.
  • Postpartum unit caring for postpartum patients, magnesium drips, higher-risk maternal patients, twins, and well babies only; babies needing more than supplemental oxygen during resuscitation go to NICU.
  • C-section patients only; no GYN surgical patients beyond tubals. Also cares for circumcision and frenectomy patients.
  • RNs titrate magnesium and Pitocin per postpartum protocols.
  • Goal of 3 couplets per nurse or 1:6 ratio; magnesium patients 1:4; rare occasion to have 4 couplets with a discharge or a set of twins for odd ratios.
  • Locked unit with CNAs, a unit clerk/health unit coordinator, a discharge nurse on days, and lactation consultants.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend or as needed.
  • Holidays as needed.
  • No call requirement.
  • Managers make the schedule; travelers are placed where needed and into schedule gaps.

Floating Requirements:

  • First to float to Nampa and Meridian for like patient assignments and first to sit with patients on other floors.
