Required Skills/Experience: Independent with labor/postpartum/newborn care. 2-3 years of OB experience required. Competent with EFM documentation.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Neopuff-T Piece experience preferred.

Special Requests: Block scheduling can be arranged.

Unit Details: Level 1 obstetric and nursery care. Travelers will triage. Patients include pre-eclampsia and well-controlled GDM. High-risk patients are transferred out when possible; typically delivers 36 weeks and above, with patients under 36 weeks transferred out when safe. Not currently scrubbing or circulating C-sections, but this may be added in the future. Titrates Pitocin, magnesium, and occasional insulin drips. Charge nurse takes assignments. No nurse aides or surgical techs on unit. OB physicians come from 3 clinics and can be onsite within 10-15 minutes; ER physician may be present for imminent deliveries. Anesthesia is in house during the day and on call at night. Uses GE CPN monitor system and Novii.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour shifts 0700-1930 or 1900-0730. Schedule is set by the manager; flexibility for rotating days/nights or straight nights is preferred. 2 weekends per 4-week schedule. Every other holiday. 2 12-hour call shifts per 4-week schedule; call is 1900-0730 with a 1-hour response time.

Floating Requirements: Must be willing to float to all departments on low census days as RN/CNA helpers.
