Resume: Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have vent, sedation, sepsis, pressors, DKA, cardiac, CHF, and respiratory experience. Floating experience does not count toward experience requirement. Correctional facility experience does not count toward experience requirement.

Special Requests: Start date is not flexible. Interview with the manager is available upon request; note it in your special requests. Travel pairs cannot request the same schedule. Cannot have an employment gap in the past 4+ months. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. 4 requested days off in a 4-week period. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but requests will be accommodated when possible.

Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 (MedSurg ICU). If no vents/drips, 1:3. Patient population includes cardiac/open heart, balloon, Impella, tPA, TPE, small head bleeds, post-tPA patients, and level 3 trauma kept onsite; intervention cases are flown to Phoenix. RNs titrate drips. Common drips include vasopressors (Epi, levophed, Phenylephrine, vasopressin), inotropes (dopamine, dobutamine, primacor), antiarrhythmics (amiodarone, cardizem, esmelol, lidocaine, procainamide), antihypertensives (Clevidipine, labetalol, cardene, Nipride, nitro), beta adrenergic (Isuprel), sedatives (Ketamine, Precedex, propofol, Versed), paralytics (Vecuronium, Nimbex, rocuronium), analgesics (Fentanyl, morphine), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, tPA, Argatroban, Heparin, Integrilin), and insulin. Charge nurse is free on both shifts and responds to codes/RRT. PCA ratios are typically 1:10; PCAs can assist with EKGs, blood sugar checks, procedure setup, I/O, ADLs, and lab draws. Intensivist coverage is in house 24/7. Days: 2 MDs and 1 NP. Nights: 1 NP/1 MD. RT is in ICU 24/7 and manages vent settings, intubates, and performs ABGs. Equipment includes vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow; RT and RN assist the MD with bedside trachs. Unit support staff monitor telemetry; centralized tele monitoring is available in each nurses station and in rooms.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 per week only; additional shifts may be picked up. Self-scheduling. No more than 5 days of RTO. 4 weekend shift days in a 4-week period required. 2 major holidays required. For Christmas, only the holiday itself, not Christmas Eve, is required. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float to other units; patient load is 4 patients instead of 6 when floating.
