Required Skills/Experience:

  • Independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk labor and delivery patients, and antepartum patients.
  • Able to effectively read fetal monitor strips.

Special Requests:

  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details:

  • Level 3 high-risk obstetric facility.
  • Ratios: 2:1 ratio normal laboring moms; 1:1 high risk labors, 4:1 couplet care; 2:1-4:1 antepartum depending on acuity.
  • Circulates and recovers own C-section patients.
  • Titrates Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin drips.
  • Certified Surgical Techs and secretaries as ancillary staff.
  • OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia in house 24/7.
  • If patients are on telemetry, monitoring is done remotely from the ICU.
  • Patients requiring artificial ventilation go to the ICU.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend.
  • Holidays as needed.
  • No call.

Floating Requirements:

  • First to float.
  • Float to postpartum/mother-baby and other units as needed.
