Required Skills/Experience: 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NNICU. Extensive experience in a Level IV NICU is required. Level I or II NICU experience will not be considered.
Unit Details: Cares for 23-week micro-premies, VLBW infants, usual complications of prematurity, general surgeries, chronic lung, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro cases, cleft lip/palate/mandible, transfers from surrounding Level II NNICUs, PDA ligations, and body cooling. Uses Pyxis; equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV. Advanced Practice is present on the unit. Respiratory therapy manages ventilators, and respiratory and anesthesia are available for support.
Shift & Scheduling: Scheduling by manager or scheduler; no self scheduling. Weekends only plus 1 weekday. No on-call requirements. Holidays required, as needed.
Floating Requirements: Floating is required within the ICU cluster, including PICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, and IMU. Travelers are first to float.
