Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit

Required Skills/Experience:
1 year of MS/MS-Tele experience (acute care experience).
Must be comfortable with IV starts; there is no IV team onsite.
Basic tele arrhythmia knowledge is expected.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of TURPs/CBI preferred.
Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 experience preferred.

Special Requests:
If previously employed by Marshfield, the end date must be at least 6 months before submission.
Must take full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed; longer blocks of 6 shifts may be considered when able.

Unit Details:
Team nursing with LPNs; LPN coverage is until 11 pm.
Ratios vary by staffing model: 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 at 11 pm, and 2:7 with LPN team nursing.
Common diagnoses/cases include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, nursing home placements, and day-surgery cases including orthopedics (hips and knees), cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and TURPs/CBI.
Small pediatric population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients unless they have prior experience or there are no other options.
No titratable drips.
Charge nurse carries an assignment; travelers may be used as relief charge.
Hospitalist coverage is onsite until 6 pm daily, then telemedicine is used.
RT is available 24/7 and oversees the entire hospital; CPAP equipment is available.
Telemetry monitoring is done daily in ICU using a physical monitor at the nurses' desk.

Shift & Scheduling:
Self-scheduling is accommodated when possible.
Every other weekend rotation, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
2 of 3 holidays required.
Potential to be placed on call/standby.

Floating Requirements:
Must be able to float to like units and like patient populations.
