Travel Nurse (RN) - Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:
Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests:
Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.
Time off of up to 40 hours can be approved.

Unit Details:
The surgical critical care team manages postoperative patients who have undergone emergency or highly complex surgical procedures and require continuous, intensive monitoring and interventions.
The trauma critical care team manages patients with multisystem traumatic injuries from many different mechanisms.
Many patients have multisystem conditions requiring intensive assessment and management of care.
Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2, with changes based on patient acuity.

Shift & Scheduling:
Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Every other weekend; must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.

Floating Requirements:
Float as needed per hospital policy.
