Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Cardiac telemetry knowledge
  • Knowledge/skill set for cardiac medical, procedural patients (caths), and cardiac drips

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Strong medical-surgical knowledge/background with telemetry

Unit Details:

  • Med-Surg Cardiac Medical Unit
  • Telemetry monitoring with some rooms hard-wired; vein finder for IV therapy, portable pulse oximetry, continuous oximetry, manual/automatic vital sign machine capabilities, blood glucose, mechanical lifts, and dopplers
  • Allscripts, medication scanning capabilities, soft-lab
  • Cardiac medical patient population including hemodynamically stable MI, acute/chronic heart failure, new onset A-fib with or without RVR, stable dysrhythmias, cardiac cath patients without interventions, ablations, cardioversions, ICDs, pacers, medication loads, CardioMEMS, pericardial drains, and patients requiring cardiac drips including Amio, diltiazem, renal-dose dopamine, dobutamine, milrinone, Lasix up to 40 mg, and insulin drips; additional populations include ICU transfers, neuro patients (CVA), and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow, and Salter
  • Typical procedures include cardiac caths (left/right, femoral/radial approach) without intervention, pacers, ablations, cardioversions, EP studies, and cardiac drips including Amio, diltiazem, renal-dose dopamine, dobutamine, milrinone, Lasix, and insulin drips

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend
