Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility was a teaching facility.

At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.

Required Credentials: Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity. Block scheduling is generally not approved; weekend-only block scheduling may be considered upon request. Travel pairs requesting the same schedule or shared car are not accepted. RTO must be submitted upfront; 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submission.

Unit Details: Adult ICU patient population includes trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation. Respiratory support ranges from nasal cannula to ventilator care. RNs are required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips; uses GE monitors with tele tech oversight.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; weekends are Saturday and Sunday. Minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract time frame. Self-scheduling is available for core staff; travelers are added into the schedule. If placed on call and called back in, arrival is required within 30 minutes.

Floating Requirements: Typically floats to PCU and occasionally MedSurg, taking the same ratio of patients typically assigned on those units (1:4 or 1:5).
