Required Skills/Experience:

• Telemetry experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year.
• CVICU experience.

Unit Details:

• Primary patient population includes CV surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc.), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies.
• Also receives overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, and similar diagnoses.
• Typical procedures include epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV Glucommander, and cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine).
• Uses Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts.

Shift & Scheduling:

• No call.
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day or night) per 6-week schedule period.
• Flexible to work holidays.

Floating Requirements:

• Any SD (1:5 ratios) or MS (1:6-7 ratios) unit, ER inpatient holding area (1:6).
