Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with PleurX chest tubes preferred.
Unit Details: General MedSurg/post-op/oncology/tele unit caring for general MedSurg patients, post-op lap chole and lap appy patients (no post-op ortho), and oncology patients with complications including neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections. Permanent nurses administer chemotherapy. Frequent chest tubes; malignant patients often discharge with PleurX chest tubes. Occasional psych patients who may be 1:1 with a sitter. Heparin drip only; no cardiac drips. Central monitor tech for the hospital; uses Philips monitors. Charge nurse available 24/7; day shift charge does not take patients, night shift charge may take patients. CPAP and BiPAP only; RT manages.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend (Sat/Sun). Work in the holiday rotation with permanent staff.
Floating Requirements: Floats to MedSurg/Tele units.
