Travel Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

IU Health will not allow IN RNs to work at their facilities. Exceptions include: Periop/OR RNs, allied, and ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. Periop includes endo, IR RN, PACU, cath lab RN, and SDS.

Required Skills/Experience: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program. Must be willing to work charge. General Emergency Department combined adult/pediatric experience; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; phlebotomy; starting IVs; continuous IV sedation; IV vasopressors; procedural sedation administration; CPAP/BiPAP; ventilated patients; isolation precautions.

Unit Details: Neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Trauma center ED. Never staff more than 1:4 ratio for regular ED patients; hold assignments could include a ratio of 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds. Averages 6.6 behavioral health patients per day.

Shift & Scheduling: Shift requirements: 3x12s or 4x12s.

Floating Requirements: Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
