In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver’s license.

Required Credentials:

  • Driver’s license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license.
  • Ascension Pharmacology Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed.
  • Ascension Medical Surgical Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed.
  • Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, 2 attempts allowed.
  • Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed.

Special Requests:

  • Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.

Unit Details:

  • Step-down/progressive care/med-tele setting caring for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but do not meet ICU criteria.
  • Patient population includes cardiac, neuro/stroke, dialysis, post-operative, respiratory, and general medical-surgical overflow patients.
  • Provides direct patient care for medically complex patients requiring telemetry, frequent monitoring, and specialized interventions.
  • Performs comprehensive assessments, including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and hemodynamic status.
  • Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms and manages telemetry monitoring.
  • Manages IV drips, including cardiac, vasoactive, or insulin infusions where applicable.
  • Cares for patients with central lines, PICC lines, oxygen therapy, high-flow oxygen, and CPAP/BiPAP as appropriate per unit policy.

Floating Requirements:

  • May float to other med/surg units.
