Required Skills/Experience: 1 year MS/Med-Surg/Telemetry acute care experience required. Must be comfortable with IV starts due to limited onsite resources and no IV team.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience/knowledge of TURPS-CBI preferred. Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 experience preferred.
Special Requests: Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Must disclose any prior Marshfield employment; previous Marshfield employment must have ended at least 6 months before submission. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed; longer blocks of 6 shifts may be considered when able, and self-scheduling is accommodated when possible.
Unit Details: Patient ratios: 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 at 11pm; team nursing with LPNs at 2:7. Common diagnoses/cases include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, nursing home placements, and day-surgery patients such as ortho (hips and knees), choles, appys, and TURPS-CBI. Small pediatric population (about 3/year); travelers are typically not assigned these patients unless they have prior experience or no other options. Limited onsite resources; RT oversees the entire hospital. Hospitalist/intensivist is in house until 6pm daily, then telemedicine is used. CPAP available. Physical tele monitor at the nurses desk. Charge nurse takes an assignment; travelers may be used as relief charge.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend, Friday-Sunday. 2 of 3 holidays required. Potential for call/standby.
Floating Requirements: Must be able to float to like units and patients.
