Required Skills/Experience: Must be comfortable independently managing laboring patients, high-risk pregnancies, induction and augmentation of labor, fetal monitoring, vaginal deliveries, and immediate postpartum care. Experience with fetal monitoring interpretation. Experience circulating cesarean sections. Management of high-risk OB patients and obstetric emergencies.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with operative vaginal deliveries (vacuum/forceps). Antepartum patient care and management. Experience with external cephalic versions and cerclages. NICU or newborn stabilization experience. Experience with magnesium sulfate administration, insulin drips, multiple gestation pregnancies, preeclampsia management, shoulder dystocia, and postpartum hemorrhage management.
Unit Details: Patient ratios: 1:1; early labor/antepartum/triage 1:2 or 1:3. Cares for laboring patients and high-risk obstetric cases; typical procedures include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, operative vaginal deliveries (vacuum/forceps), external cephalic versions, cerclage placement/removal, iron infusions, labor inductions and augmentations, postpartum recovery, and newborn stabilization. Uses electronic fetal monitors, telemetry fetal monitoring, Monica Novii wireless fetal monitoring, Alaris IV pumps, Belmont rapid infusers, Ranger blood and fluid warming systems, vein finder device, Hugs infant security system, and maternal telemetry monitoring.
Shift & Scheduling: Rotating weekends (4 weekend shifts a month).
Floating Requirements: May float to postpartum.
