You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac PCU, drips, post cath lab, IV starts, and sheath pulls.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Conscious sedation and telemetry. 2 years of nursing experience required.
Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
Special Requests: Indiana residents are considered local and are not accepted for this PCU position. Exceptions include: Periop/OR RNs, allied, and ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, and SDS. If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, if a 0.9 FTE the day must be made up during the pay period or added to the end of the contract if unable to make it up during the pay period. If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.
Unit Details: Teaching facility; travelers must agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment. Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Adult progressive care unit focused on close monitoring of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses including congestive heart failure, post-myocardial infarction, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congenital heart defects, infective endocarditis, and other co-morbidities. Cares for patients post-cath lab procedures and prior to LVAD placements, heart/lung transplants, and valve replacement.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; weekend requirements are based on unit needs, and travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract.
Floating Requirements: Refusal to float may end in termination of contract. Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.
