Additional Details:

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Telemetry and Neuro Stepdown experience required. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit monitoring, use of rapid response teams. Cardiovascular: Post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, TR Band. Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal: Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure. IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs. Medication: Heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips- no titration, manage vasoactive drips-no titration, PCA, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips. Neurological/Psychiatric: Craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury. Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements. Plastic Surgery: Skin grafts, surgical drains. Respiratory: Care of ventilated patient, chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management. Professional topics: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac. Must be able to take tracheostomies with ventilators.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Open to accommodating block schedule? Discuss with manager. RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.

Unit Details: Adult patient population. Very fast-paced unit with high patient throughput and a free charge; the charge may take up to 4 patients if needed, but this does not happen often. Only dedicated IMC unit in the hospital; takes patients of all diagnoses and all patient types.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call.

Floating Requirements: Will float as needed.
