Required Skills/Experience:
1 year ICU experience required.
Preferred Credentials:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
Unit Details:
This is a high-acuity SDU.
Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric.
Provides care for surgical patients across the continuum of care, individualized to the procedure and type of anesthesia, including assessment of patient reactions and understanding of procedure instructions.
Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
Supports timely completion of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluates PAT orders for appropriateness and potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.
Shift & Scheduling:
On-call is required.
Works 1 winter and 1 summer holiday.
Works every 3rd weekend.
Floating Requirements:
Floating to other units and locations occurs as needed.
