Required Skills/Experience:
Level 3 NICU experience or higher required.
Special Requests:
Time-off requests require manager approval.
Unit Details:
Patient population includes pre-term babies and Level 3 surgical NICU patients.
Patient ratios: 1:2 nurse to baby; 1:4 based on acuity.
A charge nurse may or may not have a patient assignment.
A resource nurse is available when staffing allows.
RT, 24/7 nurse practitioner, PT/OT, and CRNA support are available on the unit.
Telemetry monitoring is performed at the bedside.
The unit uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis for medication dispensing.
Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend rotation is every other weekend.
On-call requirement: 2 times/month.
Holiday expectation: half of the major holidays.
