You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Required Skills/Experience: IV starts, telemetry, vents, Swan-Ganz, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines required. Temporary pacemakers and chest tubes required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to any Ohio State University facilities if you have an active application to any of the James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities.
Unit Details: Adult cardiovascular ICU patient population. Cares for cardiac, vascular, or thoracic ICU patients, including CABG, valve repair, TAVR requiring ICU, structural repairs, heart transplant, lung transplant, VAD implantation, ECMO, aortic repairs, and esophageal repairs. Secondary diagnoses include low cardiac output syndrome, stroke, acute respiratory distress/failure, renal impairment/failure, diabetes mellitus, pulmonary embolus, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, heart failure, unstable dysrhythmias, and post-procedure patients.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays. Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period. Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift.
Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity within the OSU organization as needed. Travelers would not rotate more than once every 4 weeks.
