Required Skills/Experience: 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU. Level I or II NICU experience will not be considered.
Unit Details: Ratios: 1:1-3/4 based on acuity. Patient population includes 23-week micro-premies, VLBW, usual complications of prematurity, general surgeries, chronic lung, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro, cleft lip/palate/mandible, transfers from surrounding Level II NICUs, PDA ligations, and body cooling. Pyxis medication system. Equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV. 1-2 PCTs per shift, advanced practice present on the unit, 24/7 neonatologist coverage, and respiratory/anesthesia support; RTs manage ventilators. Average length of stay: 40 days.
Shift & Scheduling: Scheduling by manager or scheduler; no self scheduling. No on call requirements. Every other weekend is required. Holidays required, as needed.
Floating Requirements: May float to other units in the ICU cluster (PICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, IMU); travelers are first to float.
