Unit Details:
PCU/IMCU unit providing PCU-level care with assessment and evaluation of patients.
Must be able to manage high flow and BiPAP.
Patient population includes primary medical patients with respiratory failure, infections, CHF, and arrhythmias.
Uses chest tubes, epidurals, CAPD, NICO (Cheetah), radial and femoral compression devices post-procedure, ICU Medical IV pumps, Vapotherm high flow, Philips BiPAP, and Philips cardiac monitors.
Responsibilities include infusions and some titrations (amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix), performing and reading EKGs, phlebotomy, IV starts, central line care and maintenance, removal of central lines, and assisting with bedside procedures including chest tube placement and central line placement.
Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend.
Schedule is posted every 6 weeks; no self-scheduling.
Special Requests:
Must be separated from BILH for 6+ months to be considered.
