Travel Nurse (RN) - Surgical Intensive Care Unit

References:

• At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Unit Details:

• Ratios are typically 1:2, but may be 1:1 or 1:3.
• Cares for post-surgical patients, including open abdomens, multisystem trauma, and endovascular cases.
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin.
• Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Intensivist is in house approximately 0700-1900, with telemedicine intensivist support and an attending on call.
• Uses vents, CPAP, and Bipap.

Shift & Scheduling:

• 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period.
• Every other holiday.
• No call.

Floating Requirements:

• If floated to a lower level of care, traveler would take a full team: 3 patients on a Stepdown unit and 5-6 patients in the general med environment.
