Travel Nurse (RN) - Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience:
MS and inpatient hematology oncology experience is required (1 year minimum).
Experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma/non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and multiple myeloma is required.
MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) experience is required.
Telemetry monitoring is required.
Interpretation of dysrhythmias is required.
Use of Rapid Response Teams is required.
Feeding tube care and management is required.
Blood product administration is required.
Central line blood draw is required.
Peripheral line care/management is required.
PICC line management is required.
Nasal cannula administration is required.
Central line sterile dressing changes are required.
Chemotherapy administration is required.

Required Credentials:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

WMC monthly parking provides 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage for $224.80/month or $748.58 per 100 days.
WB annual parking costs $196.20/year and provides 9th Avenue East and West garage access on weekends and holidays and West Campus lot access 24/7. Carmack Lots 2 and 3 are approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center, with Pink Shuttle service every 3–5 minutes during peak times and an approximately 8–9-minute ride to the medical center.
CXS annual parking costs $393.96/year and provides 9th Avenue East and West garage access on weekends and holidays and Buckeye CX and West Campus lot access 24/7.
WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits; the WMC permit is available monthly.
WB weekend garage access is available from Friday at 2:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.; regular hourly garage rates apply outside those hours.

Unit Details:
The unit is a mixed-acuity PCU and MS unit.
The patient population includes acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (adult), amyloidosis, aplastic anemia, chronic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), chronic myeloid (myelogenous) leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative disorders, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Autologous transplant patients receive their own stem cells.
Syngeneic transplant patients receive stem cells from an identical twin.
Allogeneic transplant patients receive stem cells from a sibling, parent, or unrelated donor.
CAR-T therapy is performed on the unit.
The unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls.
Unit equipment includes B450 monitors with a GE telemetry system, a bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds.

Shift & Scheduling:
If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department's needs.
Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Floating Requirements:
Floating is required to other MedSurg Oncology units.
