Additional Details:

Required Credentials:

  • Graduate from an accredited college, university or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Cannot have any disciplinary action on state license.

Special Requests:

  • Must be able to start within 2 weeks of the expected start date.

Unit Details:

  • Correctional setting caring for inmates/residents.
  • Plans and provides comprehensive nursing care; executes Licensed Independent Provider orders; dispenses and administers medications; assists Licensed Independent Providers in examinations and treatment; attends sick call; operates pill call; examines and assesses new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries; refers inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facility as required by their condition; and performs emergency procedures as needed.
  • Provides guidance, supervision, and monitoring of nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
  • Inspects the medical unit for items that could be used as contraband and securely stores or safely disposes of supplies and equipment.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Expected to have open availability to work per the CoreCivic Scheduling Policy.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
