Travel Allied (Radiation Therapist) - Radiation Therapy

PAPR & Fit Testing Requirement: PAPR use is not guaranteed across all departments and must be flagged at submission. All applicants must be willing to shave to pass the mandatory N95 fit test to avoid a rescinded offer.

Required Credentials:
Graduate of AMA approved school in radiation therapy.

Unit Details:
Delivers therapeutic radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions provided by the Radiation Oncologist.
Checks prescriptions for dosage accuracy and performs simple dose calculations using computer software.
Sets up patients for treatment using immobilization devices, field parameters, and beam shaping.
Takes and interprets port-images and beam films to verify treatment localization and accuracy, with Radiation Oncologist review and approval.
Performs chart checks and reports discrepancies.
Performs daily treatment-machine QA and safety checks and maintains treatment records.
Uses wedges and compensating filters and creates or adjusts shielding blocks as needed.
Creates immobilization devices during simulator rotation.
Explains treatment procedures to patients, maintains visual and audible communication during treatment, and reports unusual or adverse reactions.
Instructs student radiation therapists and assists with end-of-rotation evaluations.
Uses Varian TrueBeam treatment equipment.

Shift & Scheduling:
Monday-Friday schedule.
No call.
