An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.
Required Skills/Experience: 3+ year OR experience with anesthesia experience required. Strong OR/CVOR circulating experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Prior experience with conscious sedation preferred.
Preferred Credentials: BSN preferred.
Unit Details: Typically assigned 4-5 rooms per day. Assists anesthesia providers across a variety of specialties with a main focus on the cardiothoracic program. Assists with intubations and fiber optic scopes during intubation. Uses sterile technique with central lines and assists with placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan Ganz catheters. Starts IVs, draws labs, and sets up medication pumps. Uses Cell Saver, Belmont, and Level I equipment. Supports heart surgeries, trauma cases, elective surgeries, and general surgeries.
Shift & Scheduling: Mon-Fri schedule; various day shifts. Every 3rd-4th weekend and every other holiday. On-call: 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 back-up per week; occasional additional call. Response time is 30 minutes ready in the OR, and a vehicle is required for call response.
