Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • If the traveler's only nursing experience is in NICU, 2 years experience is required; if the traveler has other RN experience, 1 year experience is required.

Special Requests:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • The facility may make one-off exceptions for previous employees, but exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details:

  • Level IV NICU.
  • Common patient population includes prematurity 22 weeks and above, respiratory distress (Nava, Cpap, vents), surgical patients (trachs, g-tubes, shunts, hernia repairs), and feeder/growers.
  • RNs titrate drips including Morphine, Dopamine, and Epinephrine.
  • NNP and neonatologist are in house 24/7.
  • Uses Epic and RT equipment including Drager, Servo, HFJV, HFOV, Nava, Cpap, and nasal cannula.
  • Travelers would not be in the charge RN role.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • No self-scheduling; the scheduler works with the traveler to schedule.
  • No more than 5 shifts in a row.
  • Weekends as needed to fill unit need.
  • Holiday coverage as needed.
  • No call.

Floating Requirements:

  • First to float. Possibly to Peds, PICU, Nursery, or Mother Baby if they have that experience (would get oriented if needed). May also float to Meridian Medical Center or Nampa Medical Center NICUs, which are lower acuity.
