Required Skills/Experiences: General post-surgical skillset includes incision care, assessment, drains, chest tubes, wound care/wound vacs, mobility, education, trach care, NG tube insertion, and use of braces/traction, etc.
Required Credentials: ASN / BSN
Unit Details: Orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, trauma, vascular surgery, and medical overflow patient population. RN ratios 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8. Support includes CNAs for phlebotomy, ADLs, Foley insertion/removal, and peripheral IV site removal; IV/VAT team; RT and hospitalist 24/7; remote telemetry monitoring; patient safety attendants/virtual patient observation; BERT Behavioral Response Team; rapid response/code team. Uses BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips and Massimo monitors. Free parking in designated areas.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: 6 weeks. No call.
Special Requests: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only)); could float to any of the facilities within the region if the need arises.
