Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• Management of vasoactive medications, various surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, CRRT, and invasive lines including arterial lines, PA catheters, and transvenous pacemakers.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Management of invasive devices including IABP and Impella strongly preferred; flexible on devices.

Unit Details:

• Cares for unstable STEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, thoracic surgery, and CT surgery including CABG, valve, and dissection.
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors.
• Includes two negative pressure rooms.
• Charge nurse may or may not have a patient assignment; IV/VAT team available; RT and unit-based intensivist available 24/7.

Special Requests:

• RTO can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• No call.
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
• Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements:

• Within region and scope of practice.
• Region 1 includes Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH, pediatrics only); could float to any facility within the region if needed.
• If floating mid-shift, traveler will remain on the clock for travel time between facilities.
