Required Skills/Experience: NICU II experience required. CPAP experience required.

Required Credentials: You must have compact license or MD license.

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If clinician has questions, please email the AM. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Must have a record of multiple successfully completed assignments and no cancellations in work history.

Unit Details: Neonatal patient population. Special Care Nursery is a Level II unit that requires consistent monitoring and maintaining the stability of cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal functions, either independently or in conjunction with the physician; assists with specialized procedures such as lumbar puncture and endotracheal resuscitation of newborns that are 32 weeks or greater; initiates, modifies, or stops treatment when appropriate according to established protocols or orders. Must be proficient in respiratory support via High Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and mechanical ventilation; management of central lines; peripheral IV insertions; lab draws; administration of IV antibiotics; increased knowledge of apnea and bradycardia related to the pre-term infant; stabilization of newborns less than 32 weeks and preparation for transport to a Level III facility; thermoregulation in the pre-mature infant and full-term infant related to passive cooling; neonatal resuscitation.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required. Every other holiday required.

Floating Requirements: Float to Postpartum and Labor and Delivery for neonatal care required.
