Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, Flexi-Seal, Foley insertion/management), and PCA pumps.
  • Medication gtt management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • First-time travelers not preferred but will consider.
  • Free Parking

Unit Details:

  • Patient population includes sepsis, respiratory illnesses, GI disorders, infections, liver failure, and AKI/CKD.
  • RN ratios 1:5-6, acuity dependent; surge staffing could increase ratios up to 1:7-8. CNA ratio 1:9.
  • Support includes receptionist/HUC, phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws only, IV/VAT team, resource nurse as available, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, and intensivist 24/7. Charge nurse is available 24/7 and may or may not take patients.
  • No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond.
  • Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend.
  • No call.
  • Travelers will work 75% of holidays.

Floating Requirements:

  • Will float within region and scope of practice as needed.
  • Floating region: Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division: CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital) or Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division: CMC Main, Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital).

Special Requests:

  • Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
