Required Skills/Experience: One to three years’ experience as a cardiac sonographer is required.
Required Credentials: Completion of a two-year Allied Health degree. Successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP approved School of Ultrasound Technology. OR Cardiovascular Technology. OR Equivalent education.
Preferred Credentials: Previous healthcare-related training such as CNA, EMT, PCA, or other is preferred.
Unit Details: Performs transthoracic echocardiograms; sets up and assists with transesophageal echocardiograms; and, under the direction of a trained echocardiographer, sets up and performs exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms. Performs routine and emergency echocardiograms, including 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, Doppler, and transesophageal studies. Primarily adult patient population. Uses selected transducers, digital networking systems, and off-line analysis systems. Prepares preliminary reports for cardiologist review, including comparison of previous studies. Utilizes ultrasound contrast according to ASE guidelines and department policy.
Shift & Scheduling: No weekends or call.
