Additional Details:

In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver's license.

Driver's license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license.

Required Credentials:

  • Ascension Pharmacology exam required before start; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed.
  • Ascension Specialty exam required before start; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed.
  • Ascension Core Competencies required; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed.
  • Ascension EKG exam required; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed.

Special Requests:

  • Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles.
  • Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.

Unit Details:

  • Adult and pediatric burn trauma surgical ICU with primary RN care model.
  • Patient population includes adult and pediatric burn trauma patients with flame, scald, electrical, chemical burns, inhalation injuries, necrotic ischemia, and necrotizing fasciitis throughout continuum of care.
  • Nursing care ratios 1:2 for critical care patients.
  • 1:1 nursing care support for burn trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity and post-operative patients.
  • Needs include invasive hemodynamic monitoring (At least Q 1 hr), IV drip titration, nurse driven burn fluid resuscitation following Parkland formula, ventilator management, CVVH, Q 1 h pulse and flap doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, epidural pumps.

  • Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
