Additional Information

Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of recent Level III NICU experience required. Strong experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill neonates. Therapeutic cooling experience required. Must be comfortable independently managing complex NICU patients.

Required Credentials: Driver's license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/Tdap declinations. Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, only 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, only 2 attempts allowed.

Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates must have at least 6 months of employment separation to be considered for a travel position. To receive travel rate, the clinician’s claimed residence must match the address on the driver's license.

Unit Details: Level III NICU caring for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates. High-acuity patient population includes infants requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support and therapeutic hypothermia/cooling. Uses ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, high-flow oxygen, central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC). Administers and titrates IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products. Includes neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
