Required Credentials: You must have a MO license and be in the process of applying for a KS license, or vice versa, or have compact licensure to apply.
Required Skills/Experience: Attend high-risk deliveries; Level 1 Nursery, NICU II, and NICU III; care for neonates < 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and > 34 weeks; dysrhythmia interpretation/management; invasive hemodynamic monitoring; telemetry on-unit monitoring; blood glucose monitoring; hyperbilirubinemia; phototherapy; breastfeeding support/handling of breast milk; feedings (bottle, breast, gavage); placement/management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes; isolation precautions/PPE; neonatal sepsis; sepsis work up; administration of blood and blood products; arterial line management; central line blood draw; central line/implanted line care; starting and maintaining IVs; UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter); UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter); antibiotics/antivirals; anti-seizure medications; neonatal dosage calculations; steroids; surfactants; assist with lumbar puncture; neonatal abstinence syndrome; APGAR scoring; developmental care; patient/family teaching; phlebotomy; thermoregulation; Bubble CPAP; high flow nasal cannula (HFNC); management of chest tubes; meconium aspiration; oxygen delivery systems; respiratory distress syndrome; suctioning (ETT, NT); ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP); arterial and venous puncture blood gas collection.
Unit Details: Neonate and infant patient population. Delivery attendance/post birth stabilization; well newborn care.
Special Requests: If requesting 7 days of RTO, the expectation is that the missed time is made up.
Shift & Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday and/or Saturday night) and 2 Sunday nights per 6-week schedule. On-call: Two (2) 12hr call shifts per 6 week schedule. RTO: No more than 7 days.
Floating Requirements: Well baby nursery; attend deliveries on L&D. Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed.
