Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. If previously employed by Sanford Health, Good Samaritan Society, or Marshfield Clinic Health System, end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. This location does not accept local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles.
Required Skills/Experience: 2 years ICU experience required – competency in central line cares, chest tubes, foleys, ART lines, trach cares, vents, proning, pressors, sedation, Impella and balloon pumps.
Unit Details: Ensuring provider orders are maintained; assisting with intubations, central line insertions, ART line insertions, chest tube insertions, titrating medications, and Foley catheter insertion. Uses Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, ventilators, and central monitoring. Standard ratio is 1:2; some patients are 1:1 such as fresh hearts, unstable trauma patients, and unstable CRRT. Medical/surgical ICU with a free charge nurse to assist primary nurses and attend trauma codes, rapid responses, and code blues throughout the facility. 24-hour intensivist present, 1 APP during day shift, and 2 respiratory therapists assigned to the ICU.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call required. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Floating Requirements: Floating can occur to 1NW, which is currently the COVID unit and occasionally has ICU patients. Floating can occur to other ICU overflow areas or med-surg based on unit census.
