Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' ICU experience, including Cardiac experience.
  • Experience with IABP.
  • Experience with Impella.
  • Experience with CRRT.
  • Experience with Day 2/Day 3 post-op CABGs.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Peds experience is highly preferred.

Unit Details:

  • Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 (lower acuity).
  • Common diagnoses/types of patients: Open hearts, CHF, COPD, OD, Sepsis, CVAs w/ TPA, DKA, some Neuro (no ICP yet), TeleStroke program.
  • Adults & patients under the age of 8 will be admitted to the ICU. Peds over 8 years of age will be in the PCU or Med Surg, unless they require ICU level of care or need to be transferred out.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Typically, RNs will be scheduled for 2 weekends (Saturday and Sunday) per month; however, it could be more, depending on the unit's needs.
  • May require 2 extra shifts per 6 weeks.
  • Holidays: 1 major & 1 minor.
  • No self-scheduling; schedules will be based on the needs of the unit.

Floating Requirements:

  • RN will need to float to PCU and Med Surg as needed, depending on census. Travelers are first to float.
