Required Skills: Medication administration/ Pain management, Adjuvant therapy, Breakthrough dosing, Equianalgesic dosing of opioids, Medication tolerance, Pain assessment, Pharmacologic/non-pharmacological pain interventions, Proper disposal of medications, Types of pain (somatic, visceral, neuropathic) and treatment, Utilization of pain scales (verbal, nonverbal), Ethical and Legal Issues, Symptom Assessment/Management, End of Life Care, Phlebotomy/IV Management, Care and management of peripheral IVs/ central lines/ports, Phlebotomy skills, Starting and maintaining IVs, Professional knowledge/skills

Preferred Skills / Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience

Preferred Skills: PCA pump management, Advanced directives, Withholding/withdrawing treatment, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Nausea/vomiting, Pressure ulcer staging, Bereavement planning, Cultural awareness, Identify Spiritual needs, Perideath care of family, Postmortem Care, Goal setting with patient/family

Unit / Facility Details: Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID

Special Requests: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Can not apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any of the Ohio State University facilities.

New unit that will open on 7/1. Travelers who start prior to this date will be floating to inpatient units until their training is complete.

Shift & Scheduling: D/N or N

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Weekend Requirement: As needed per unit needs

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
