Required Skills/Experience:
Must have skills/experience with IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, electronic health records, and an intermediate care background.

Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but every effort is made to provide block schedules when possible, especially for night shifts.

Unit Details:
Common diagnoses and patient types include abdominal surgeries, ear, nose, and throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical cases.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights.
RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable or set-rate drips include heparin and, infrequently, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitro.
Telemetry technicians monitor rhythms and notify nurses of concerns; RNs are not required to read telemetry strips. Technicians record patient rhythms in the EHR, and an on-unit monitor allows RNs to view their patients' rhythms.
Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm; the unit occasionally cares for patients with tracheostomies and does not use ventilators.
Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend and every other holiday.
No call.
Floating Requirements:
Float on a rotation to other medical-surgical units when the unit is overstaffed.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
