Required Skills/Experience:
Must be willing to train in Nursery and Recovery.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Minimum of 1 year ICU/Inpatient experience preferred.
Required Credentials:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Unit Details:
Unit duties include procedural sedation, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care (including complications), rapid sequence intubation, fetal monitoring, advanced cardiac monitoring, NSTs, epidurals, inductions, trauma alerts, newborn care (delivery to discharge), pre-term care, CCHD screening, and phototherapy.
Patient care includes critical drips and CVP and A-line monitoring.
The unit uses a Rapid Infuser and ventilator/BiPAP equipment.
Additional duties include hearing screening and infant security.
The RN supervises non-professional staff in the delivery of care to assigned patients, makes work assignments, assists with priority setting, and acts as a resource for less experienced staff.
Shift & Scheduling:
Demonstrates flexibility with working hours and shifts scheduled to meet staffing requirements within the department.
Floating Requirements:
Assists nursing staff in other departments as requested when the need arises.
