Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation and experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone); general Med/Surg skills including care of patients with tubes/drains, IV starts, blood products, and wound care/dressing changes.
Special Requests: RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays — must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Unit Details: Fast-paced observation Med/Surg/Tele unit caring for cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and other diagnoses. RN ratio 1:5-6 on days and nights; in surge staffing could see ratios up to 1:7-8. CNA ratio 1:12. Charge nurse may have a patient assignment and is a resource for staff; no HUC. Phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT 24/7, hospitalist on site days and virtual evenings/overnight, intensivist 24/7, and remote telemetry monitoring with tele tech. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Massimo monitors in all rooms.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for nights and up to 3p for days. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Night shift hours: 1845-0715. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: Will be required to float within Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) - as needed, within scope of practice.
