Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: In addition to meeting the unit experience requirements, your work experience needs to reflect at least 12 months (1 year) of uninterrupted experience working in the same unit/specialty you’re applying to. ER and Med Surg experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with vents, titratable drips, and mixing medications preferred.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit. If multiple shifts are posted, only apply to your preferred shift. Blocked scheduling may be accommodated.

Shift & Scheduling: No call required. Holidays required.

Floating Requirements: Floating to ER and Med Surg required. A float log is kept in the ICU, and there is a float rotation. The house supervisor or director may override the float book in certain situations; for example, if ER is short, the nurse with the most ER experience may be sent. When floating to ER, float nurses do not take a patient assignment; they help answer call lights, pass meds, transport patients, start IVs, and draw blood. When floating to Med Surg, the nurse may take a full assignment of up to 6 Med Surg patients or may act as an aide for 12 patients.
